5 quotes you need to hear right now

We seem to love inspirations that come in quote size, and here are 5 of these you need to hear (or read) right now!

I had a client once, who had a deep-rooted fear of conflict. This lady was a team leader with a sizeable team under her, yet her fear of conflict was so strong, that she would rather take on extra work herself than let a team member know that their performance was falling, or lacking.

One thing we spoke about was that sometimes the only kind thing you can do for someone is to tell them the truth. With kindness, but the truth nonetheless, trusting, at the same time that this truth may save them years of turmoil they may otherwise have to go through without this bit of tough love.

She couldn't do it.

Speaking of saving people years of turmoil, these 10 quotes are here to do just that. Give you that little wake-up call you didn't know you asked for, and let's bring some new focus into your lives...

In no particular order:

1. "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." – Abraham Lincoln
** This is possibly the most important one if you stop to think about it. Does it matter how old you are if you live every day as you had the previous one?
How to course correct? Decide you do something special, joyous, spontaneous, or all of the above at least once a week. Later on, it can be 'at least once a day' and then, do this 90% of the time. Take your time, but remember to do something you'll remember in a few years (let alone those pesky grandkids by the fireplace all these years from now)

2. "The only impossible journey is the one you never begin." – Tony Robbins
** Yikes! We have so much fear that we end up leaving the best to the imagination!
How to course correct? If you have a dream, an idea, a wish, or even a hunch - it's there for a reason, so the only thing you have to lose is the hours it's taken you while pondering it over. Decide to take a step in that direction this week and do it. Don't forget that fear is a million times scarier in our minds than what it is doing it!

3. "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it." – Charles R. Swindoll
** Remember that how we react is nearly entirely made of fears and conditioning. I.e: not the truth!
How to course-correct? Allow yourself to sit with what is happening, and really find what you believe the worst-case scenario is. Then find out how bad this really is, or maybe you will notice you are 'judging' this according to someone else's standards or limitations...

4. "Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change." – Jim Rohn
** You've heard this saying before... if you always do what you've always done, you're always going to get what you always got... It's basically this, that we're talking about here.
How to course correct?
Somewhere inside of you is a little voice and that little voice guides you on how to navigate life. This voice is not your friend, even though it does want to protect you... when you come up with a new idea that will help you heal (physically, mentally or emotionally), this voice will tell you that you've already tried that or already doing this. Don't listen to this voice. I repeat, don't do it! You haven't done this already. You may have done something similar that only got you to where you are right now. To get where you're headed, you need to re-visit. You can do this son!

5. "We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." – Albert Einstein
** absolutely one of my most favourite sayings! When we use our current knowing to solve a problem, we use everything we already have. To solve a problem, we need something new - a new insight, a fresh concept or both...
How to course correct? If you can't (or won't) find a coach or a therapist, you might want to try subconscious writing or doodling - a fascinating approach that helps dig deeper. Here's how (link)

I hope these quotes got you thinking about your life, where you want to be and what you believe is stopping you. Remember that the whole idea of 'course correct' is to start small, but at least, to be starting.
It's never about a 100% change - an approach that rarely works, but instead, taking smaller steps to create enough momentum you would want to carry on.

Just try it, would you?

When I just finished my Master Practitioner of NLP, I was VERY excited to bring my newly found healing techniques to the world. One of the very first FB comments I received was from a woman telling me it took her too long to convince her family and doctors that she was ill, she was definitely not going to give it all away for healing...

I'm not saying this is you, but I do encourage you to take an honest look at your current situation and tell me - what will you not give up even if straight-up healing is on the table? The answer is there... Just to the left of your ego... (and if you found this triggering, let me tell you are clearly not alone).
If, on the other hand, you think - 'YES! help me change!' then I invite you to get in touch and see for yourself what we can do together!
