Netflix inspired lessons

Why does the past have such a strong-hold on our present lives? What can we do to release past traumas? Some ideas, here! (Jan, 18th 2026)

It's 8pm, and my usual Netflix partner in crime has gone upstairs to study for her GCSE exams later this year. I am left with the remote, and some quick zip-zapping later, I'm landing on a documentary about Victoria Beckham (Former Spice Girl, Fashion and makeup designer, wife of...)

I am pretty impartial to the drama and the gossip around her, but was curious to find a question to one burning question I see all around me - How do you just go for it? How do you get over the paralysing fears of failure and how others will judge you, and fully and wholly follow where your heart leads you?

Feeding into these questions, other than the work I so often do with my clients (also, see this week's solo podcast that also touches on this), but also a reminder I came across that says - 'The universe gives you an idea, and also gives you the power to fulfil it'. And that's when I was wondering why some people do and so many people don't, and hence my evening with Mrs Beckham...

Here are a few things I've picked up from the documentary, and which I believe are a truly great reminder for us all:

1) Sometimes you gotta stop ignoring the signs and the doors that keep opening up for you and really, just go for it

2) You can start small and figure it all out later

3)
Failure is a state of mind. When you are on your 'follow-your-heart' journey, you already know that there are going to be ups as well as downs. Just like a river has its turns and rhythm, so is your journey. Embrace it. Be open to keeping open...

4) If you want to make it big, you are probably going to be in the face of more than just your people. Some people will be in your corner, others will trash you, but you always gotta remember that they don't really matter, although it might be interesting to hear what they have to say in case there are learnings there. Otherwise - block and delete!

5)
Don't be afraid to ask for help and be vulnerable. You are not meant to have it all sorted out from the word go. Find your people and your tribe, but always remember it's your dream, your journey, and you are in charge...

6)
Just like a rocket flying to the moon, it knows the overall trajectory, but course-corrects all the way until it lands. Same for you. Keep on checking in, what works, what doesn't, but also, and just for the fun of it, remember to manage your expectations and allow for things to take the time they need to give the right results. (In other words, no magic wands and instant success expectations).

7)
You are worthy. You are powerful. You are completely and uniquely you. No one can replace you, and no one can do it better than you. Stop comparing yourself to others and find the guts to be you - warts n' all!

Just a small reminder to get started - regardless of whether you're starting your own thing, already deep in it, or if you're sitting at a desk wishing the weekend never ended. You can always do things differently, and you can always find your way of making life work for you - after all - you are the power, and this is your main character moment!!

This week in Healing Conversations

This week, I finally sat down to address one of the most hinted-at topics of conversation - why you're feeling stuck and how to 'fix' it!

In this solo episode of Healing Conversations, einav avni explores the challenge of moving beyond a purely logical, "mind-based" approach to life and decision-making, especially when feeling stuck; whether in business, healing, or personal growth. She discusses the roles of the left (logical, practical) and right (creative, emotional) sides of the brain, and how over-relying on what is already known or practical can limit progress.

einav avni encourages listeners to complement the mind with the wisdom of the heart and soul, which operate from intuition, trust, openness, and curiosity rather than fear and the need for control. She offers practical suggestions for gently experimenting with heart-led choices and becoming comfortable with the unknown, emphasising that growth and fulfilment come from balancing logic with flow, experience, and self-trust. einav avni concludes by highlighting her work as an alignment coach and energy healer, inviting listeners to consider new ways of being and to reach out with questions or comments.

Next week in Healing Conversations

Next week I'm chatting with Stephen Paul Edwards about his latest book - the Venus Fly Trap, and what it's like to love the wrong person, dealing with addictions and why shame and vulnerability are a must in your way to inner freedom. Watch this space :)

This feels relevant today because of the reminder that we are the sum of our parts. Use your parts to help you grow more than to weigh you down. Remember, you didn't come here to suffer, you came here to make an impact on the world and the people you meet on your path :)

The benefits of...

I believe in the power of natural healing. When medication is part of your path, nature still has a role to play. Thoughtfully chosen foods, herbs, and spices can gently support your body and enhance your overall sense of well-being

Dottie's Corner

I don't know why you HUUMANS keep saying you feel unseen. Here I am, in your most vulnerable position, and I SEE you! I got my eyes on you and can see your soul - your fears, your dreams, your wishes...
To be honest, joining you on your trips to the bathroom is one of my most favourite things to do, and the funny thing is - you can't do anything about it!!
This is probably the best lesson in vulnerability for you - you have to trust you can be completely you and I won't judge (or laugh). I see you!

I work extensively with people to help them transform their lives from fears, limitations and compromises, to harmony, alignment and joy, or in other words, helping people find natural healing to mind, body and soul.
