NINE deep questions to ask yourself today

Nine questions to get you to rethink some of these deeply stashed beliefs you've been carrying with you for so long (Oct 4th 2026)

I was texting with a friend I haven't been in touch with for a while, and as the conversation was progressing, I asked him if he was happy. Jokingly, I added: On a scale of 1-10, where would you put yourself... He said he didn't even know, and I found myself wondering what I would have said if someone gave me the same question...

Somehow, this made me think of these 9 questions you will see below. They may not help you decide how happy you feel on a 1-10 scale, but they are sure to make you pause and think. My recommendation for you is to notice the first unfiltered answer that comes to your mind. It's usually the truest one you'll have.

Let the answers come. Be curious about what comes up and let it guide you as you go about your day (week? life?). I'll tell you later why these questions are so brilliant...

The NINE questions: (credit: daily_health_il)

1) If you only had one more day to live, would you tell anyone about it? Who would you tell?

2) If someone gave you a box containing everything you had ever lost, what would be the first thing you would look for?

3) How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

4) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, would you go to ‘some-place’ or to ‘some-one’?

5) Would you rather delete your worst-ever memory or relive your best one?

6) What is your biggest ‘what if’? The one that still haunts you?

7) If you could live forever, would you choose to?

8) If you walked into a room filled with everyone you have ever known, who would you look for first?

9) Have you ever felt like you’re missing yourself? Or the person you were before life changed everything?

If you're anything like me, these questions didn't leave you dry-eyed...

The reason why I wanted to ask you these questions today is that our brain does something very interesting. It allows us to keep memories the way we remember them (not necessarily the way they were). And sometimes, those memories become the basis for the things we believe about ourselves.

We remember something that happened, we decide what it meant, and then somewhere along the way, that becomes part of who we think we are.

So these questions made me wonder... what if the way I remember things, and what got me to believe certain things about me, isn't exactly how things were? What if there is more to some of those memories than the version I've been carrying around with me?

And if that is the case, then maybe I have a little more choice than I thought I did about what I believe about myself and about the way I want to move my life forward.

Maybe that means letting some people back in. Maybe it means finally letting some people go. Maybe it means making a decision I've been putting off, or allowing myself to believe something different about who I am and what is possible for me.

I don't know what your answers to these questions were, but I would be really interested to know if any of them surprised you. And perhaps that's the bit worth paying attention to — not necessarily the answer itself, but the fact that it came up at all.

Because sometimes we don't realise how much of our present is being shaped by things that happened a very long time ago.

And maybe that's where the fun starts...

With love,

Introducing... 7 questions wonder

I thought it could be quite nice to share with you some of the people I value, trust and would be genuinely happy to recommend. So, without further ado, here's today's introduction!

1) Tell us a little about you and what you do
I’m Beverly Lawrence, PhD, a holistic practitioner, educator, author, and facilitator. I work at the intersection of health, consciousness, and life transformations.
My work brings together more than three decades of study and experience in holistic health, Traditional Chinese Medicine, medical astrology, meditation, energy practices, hypnotherapy, and consciousness studies.
Rather than focusing on one technique or philosophy, I help people look at the different parts of their lives as an interconnected whole: Soul, Mind, Regulation, Body, Life, Integration, and Transformation.

2) What led you to do the work you do today?

My work grew out of my own experiences as well as decades of study, teaching, and working with people.
Over the years, I became increasingly interested in why people can have tremendous amounts of information and still feel stuck. Knowing something intellectually does not necessarily mean that we have integrated it into our lives.
That distinction eventually became central to my work. I began looking beyond simply acquiring information toward a process of Information • Experience • Discernment • Integration • Wisdom.
Today, much of my work focuses on helping people develop that discernment and discover what is actually meaningful and useful for them.

3) Who do you most love helping, and what might they be experiencing when they find you?

I especially enjoy working with adults who have reached a point of change in their lives and are asking deeper questions about their health, purpose, direction, or what comes next.
Many have already done a great deal of personal or spiritual work. They may have read the books, taken the classes, tried different healing approaches, or explored different spiritual traditions, yet still feel that something is missing.
Sometimes they are overwhelmed by conflicting information. Sometimes an old way of living no longer fits, but they do not yet know what comes next.
I help them recognise the patterns they are living, identify the habits and beliefs that may be keeping those patterns in place, and understand what needs to be addressed so they can begin making meaningful changes in their lives.

4) What do you actually help people with, and how do you work with them?

I help people explore the patterns influencing their health, choices, relationships, purpose, and personal development.
Depending upon what someone needs, that may include a holistic health assessment, medical astrology assessment, education, meditation and consciousness practices, or one of my integration programs.
I don't approach people with the assumption that one method has all the answers. Instead, we look at the person as a whole and ask: What is happening? What patterns are present? What might be influencing them? What needs attention now?
My role is not to tell someone who they should become. It is to facilitate a process that helps them understand themselves more clearly and make more conscious choices about what comes next.

5) What might someone discover through working with you?
They may begin recognising patterns that previously seemed unrelated.
They may discover that something they considered a personal failing is actually a pattern that can be understood and worked with. They may also discover that some beliefs or practices they have carried for years no longer serve them.
Most importantly, they may become better at discerning the difference between information, interpretation, experience, and what they actually know to be true for themselves.
That kind of discernment can change the way someone approaches health, spirituality, relationships, and life decisions.

6) What can someone expect when they choose to work with you?

My hope is that people leave with greater clarity, a better understanding of themselves, and practical ways to work with what they have discovered.
Transformation does not necessarily mean becoming a different person. Often, it means understanding yourself well enough that the different parts of your life begin working together rather than pulling in different directions.
Ultimately, I want people to become less dependent on someone else telling them what to think or do and more capable of making informed, conscious decisions for themselves.

7) If someone reading this thinks, “I'd like to know more”, how can they find you?

The best place to begin is my website, drbeverlylawrence.com. My services can be found at www.ADBO.com.
There you can learn more about my holistic health assessments, medical astrology assessments, educational programs, classes, books, and other resources.
I also offer free resources for people who simply want to explore the work before deciding whether they would like to go deeper.

Last week I wrote about conditioning and how it's 'setting in stone' our fears, beliefs, attitudes, limitations, and behaviours, and also what we can do to have more intentional and 'right for us' lives.

Two days later, I saw this image and thought it would be helpful to bring that point home. So here you are... Hope it helps you question what makes you do the things you do, especially when you don't get the results you want...

Dottie's Corner

The youngest person in the house took me for a personal 'pick-me-up' since her sister went off to Uni, and I lost my person-I-love-most-in-the-world (and believe me, I am not being dramatic!)
Anyway, we went out to the green, and she took these really lovely photos of me; some with random toys of mine, some with a stick I found, and some, like this one, where you can really see how deep my soul really goes.

Heart Wall - half-hour session Believe it! You are good enough! - bookEnergy Healing like no other
If you're tired of feeling tired, exhausted, unloved, or like everything you do is an effort, there is something you can do about it!
Most people have a heart wall - made out of trapped emotions, hanging on to dear life trying to protect you.
In a Heart Wall clearing session, we clear trapped emotions from this life, previous lives and also those which were passed down to you from your ancestors, or others.

Believe it! You are good enough! explores the connection between self-worth, authentic confidence and boundaries, and what happens when we create workplaces where people are not only encouraged to feel confident and empowered, but are actually given the space to be so.
