How come we are so easy to connect with anger and fears and not see straight through it to our innate wisdom and knowing? Lessons in spirituality...
I got an email from one of my clients, and let me tell you, she was
A-N-G-R-Y!!
(not with me, mind...)
The email was long, and you could feel the anger even without it being mentioned in most sentences. Anger, frustration, disappointment and that one we don't speak about often enough - resignation.
As I was reading the email, other than feeling all of her emotions, I noticed how small she was. She was neck-high in her reality of trying everything and that nothing good was coming her way. Her accommodation challenge, inability to find work, lack of money, and lack of friends—the list went on.
The only thing she wasn't able to see was that with so many negative feelings and emotions, instead of coming out of that and creating the reality she wanted, she stayed in the spiral-down loop, the only thing possible was to keep on doing what she was doing, keep on recycling her anger, frustration and sadness.
We've all been there, right?
We all experienced a time (or several) when nothing went our way, and the more we tried, the less we got back. Some of us were able to shake this off early on, but many of us stayed with this cloud for a little too long to anyone's liking.
When we are so deep in our story of misery, we can easily forget that we are not here to suffer. We're not here to connect with our problems, invite them over for tea and look after them, doing whatever they dictate. NO...
We are here as soul beings, here on a journey of learning and growth. We're here to fulfil a period of learning, after which, when it's all done and dusted, we can go back up there and decide on our next incarnation, with it new learnings, experiences and growth.
We are not meant to look at the problems and stay with them. We are meant to learn and grow. We are meant to disconnect our ego from all the challenges and connect instead with our intuition, joy, and inner knowing.
One way to come out of all the trouble is by raising our energy and vibration. Take a look at this image to understand this better:
What this image is showing us so brilliantly is that we must come out of the low, negative frequencies where everything is happening from resistance and force, and find our way into flow and harmony.
How you might ask, do I do that when everywhere I look, all I can see is more troubles, problems, hatred, wars, politics, and misery?
This is a good question, and the answer is even better... we do this by going inside into our inner wisdom - connecting with people we love and doing things we enjoy. We notice where we buy into the external fear (where we are mostly powerless to act or change) and go instead back inside, where we are able to raise our own energies and slowly influence the energy of those around us, slowly creating higher vibrations all around us.

Back to the question of the title, though... what does lie underneath your anger?
Anger is an emotion like any other, and as such, better out than in. But there is a difference between noticing the anger and letting it come and go rather than feeding it with more and more fire and deeper rage.
The emotion hiding just beneath anger is fear. Fear is often exaggerated with our default negative narrative that comes from ego and expectations that things could or should have been different and better for us.
The truth is that better will only ever come from growth. When we've done the work, we can see that where we are currently is not bad or disadvantaged but perfectly matches our energies and frequencies, as well as our current belief systems (the limiting ones, of course)...

Dottie's Tip Of The Week
![]() | Some parenting well-wishers out there say that when your kids are young, and there are too many toys around, you should hide some, and if after 3 months no one mentions them, you're good to give them to charity etc. Well, my HUMMANS did the same and when, one day, the kids accidentally found the hidden toys, they started crying saying they'd been looking for them everywhere but just didn't know to ask where they were... Well, I have just recently been reunited with this brilliant toy that wasn't hidden as much as packed, but I tell you now - I am well chuffed they didn't give that one to charity!!! |
