What the Judge said...

A story about beliefs...

You may have heard this story doing the rounds, but here goes, in case you haven't...

In a town not too far from here, there was a church, as many churches are, filled with life and activity. Every week, the church was a bustling hub of worship and community ceremonies—a place where people gathered for fellowship and spiritual guidance.

One day, a businessman bought the empty building next to the church, intending to transform it into something entirely different—a nightclub featuring drinking, gambling, and dancing. This new establishment would likely draw many customers, and the churchgoers were worried about the negative influence it would have on the community.

Concerned about the future of their town and the impact of the nightclub, the members of the church decided to take matters into their own hands. They gathered together for an evening of prayer, asking for divine intervention to prevent the businessman’s plans from succeeding. They prayed fervently and with great conviction, hoping that something would happen to stop the development of the nightclub.

Later that night, a fierce storm rolled in, and a single bolt of lightning struck the new nightclub, setting it ablaze. The fire quickly consumed the building, reducing it to ashes.

The businessman, devastated by the loss of his investment, decided to take legal action. He sued the church, claiming that their prayers had caused the lightning strike that destroyed his business.

The case went to court, and when the hearing began, the judge looked out at both parties and sighed heavily. After a moment of reflection, he addressed the room.

"This is, without a doubt, the most challenging case I’ve ever had to preside over," the judge began. "On one side, we have a businessman who believes in God, and on the other, we have a church that seemingly does not."

:)

I love this story. It made me think about beliefs, alignment and how we all fit in this experience called life...

What did you make of it?

Dottie's Tip Of The Week

Sometimes I like to try new things. Why not, right? But whenever I do, you can bet yourself there will always be someone there to point out, take a picture or shriek about it so much, that I decide I should not do this again.

What's wrong with this sitting position anyway??

The thing is, I now know, we are a little too quick to let other people's opinion influence what we feel is right for us - to do, to try, to think and so on.If you want to sit in a way others find amusing, please do. And if you have a dream that calls you - don't let other people's fears stop you from achieving yours. You do you!
